This painting of Heceta Head was done in one sitting. My goal was to use abstract color patterns with dark contrasts. It is located on the Oregon Coast off the Pacific Ocean.

Point Fermin Lightouse is located on the Pacific Ocean on the California Coast near Los Angeles Harbor. I used the abstract color under painting on this painting like on Heceta Head just above.

Yaquina Head Light is located on the Oregon Coast of the Pacific. If you look closely you can see the lighthouse keeper on the steps.

Whitefish Point Lighthouse is located on the south shore of Lake Superrior in Michigan. The S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald sank near this site in the 1970's.

GRAYS HARBOR LIGHT

Grays Harbor Light is located on the Pacific Coast of Washington near the quaint town of Westport. It was a chilly summer day and to capture that feeling I added blue to the trees.

Lightship Huron, Watercolor Painting

LIGHTSHIP HURON

Huron Lightship is located at the mouth of the Saint Clair River in Port Huron near Lake Huron in Michigan. She was in service from 1920 to 1970 fifty years of service on Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. It was the last lightship to be deactivated on the Great Lakes.

Point Aux Barques Lighthouse, Watercolor Painting

Point Aux Barques Lighthouse is located in Michigan on Lake Huron near Huron City. It stands at the tip of the Michigan thumb since 1848. Point Aux Barques means "point of the boats".

COLUMBIA LIGHTSHIP

The Columbia Lightship is mored at the Columbia River Maritime Museum, on the Oregon side of the river. Lightship Columbia served from 1892, the first Lightship on the West Coast and was the last active Lightship when it was decommissioned in 1979. She served for eighty-six years.

Located nineteen miles south of Half Moon Bay on the Pacific Coast of California near Pescadero. An old yet ornate light activated in 1872, this is how the light usually looks like on fog filled days.

Cape Blanco Light Station is located north of Port Orford, Oregon on the Pacific Coast. It was activated in 1870 while I was visiting these antique cars stopped and posed for me so I included them in the painting.

Cape Disappointment Lighthouse is on the Pacific Coast near Ilwaco, Washington at the mouth of the Columbia River. Activated in 1856 it is Washington States oldest lighthouse.

Fairport Harbor West Breakwater Light was activated in 1925. It stands at the mouth of the Grand River on Lake Erie in Fairport, Ohio.

POINT IROQUOIS LIGHTHOUSE

This Lighthouse is located in Brimley, Michigan on Lake Superior. It was first illuminated in 1857 and has a 65 foot tower.

This Lighthouse is the oldest on the Great Lakes built in 1821. It is located at Sandusky Bay on Lake Erie in Ohio.
